WORKSHOP ON THE PROMOTION AND PROTECTION OF ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND CULTURAL RIGHTS AS PART OF THE FIGHT AGAINST INEQUALITIES DURING THE RECOVERY FROM THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Among the activities that could support the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the implementation of economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR), priority should be given to training those responsible for implementing public policies. Indeed, many governments, often through lack of will, but sometimes also through lack of capacity, fail to train their administrative and judicial staff, who are crucial to the implementation of ESC rights.

This is, of course, a considerable but indispensable task, and constitutes the first stage in the implementation of ESC rights. In this task, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights could support governments that request its assistance.
