CONTENT: The first bulletin of the year opens with an article on the new working group on peasants’ rights. We then present a few lines about Haiti, which is under the thumb of persistent interference from foreign powers. Page 4 is devoted to a report on the Civil Society Conference held in the run-up to the UN Summit on the Future. This is followed by an article on Ecuador, which is descending into violence and chaos. On pages 6 and 7, you will find a paper on the report by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Finally, the last page of bulletin no. 69 is dedicated to the list of claims and proposals published by CETIM.

CONTENT: The first pages of this newsletter are devoted to the draft UN Covenant on the Right to Development. The aim of this pact is to implement this right throughout the world. You will then find an article celebrating a victory for CETIM and its allies, namely the establishment at the UN of a monitoring mechanism for the rights of peasants. Page 5 of the last newsletter of the year deals with the crucial issue of transnational corporations and, more specifically, the threats hanging over the current UN process. On page 6, we present an article on economic, social and cultural rights, which are finally being put on the international agenda. As usual, the next page lists the CETIM’s interventions at the UN during the last six months of the year. Page 8 presents the CETIM’s latest book, entitled “Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: A legal tool in the fight for social justice“.

CONTENT: The latest bulletin for 2020 begins with two articles related to Switzerland: the first discusses its foreign policy in the area of peasants rights, and the second looks at the concerns of the UN Special Rapporteur on the new approach of the Swiss cooperation. Violations of the right to water in Chile are then discussed, as well as the progress of negotiations on the binding TNC treaty at the UN. You will also find a summary of the CETIM’s statements during the 44th and 45th sessions of the CodH. CONTENT: The last bulletin of the year 2019 opens with an article on the TNC Working Group that met in October. He then presents the visit to Switzerland of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Development. The bulletin ends with a reminder of two books published by CETIM: one on the dangers of shale gas and the collection of texts by Tahar Haddad.

CONTENT: This last bulletin of 2018 first looks back at the historic victory of the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Peasants. We also refer to our written statement on the phenomenon of the criminalization of the struggles of the Mapuche people in Chile. We then discuss the draft treaty on transnational corporations. The text presented by the Chair of the Working Group is disappointing. We explain why. Two pages are devoted to publications.
