CONTENT: Bulletin no. 70 presents an update on the work of the Global Campaign (TNC), with an article on Peru and another on Argentina, two countries in the throes of conflict where human rights violations are increasing. The last bulletin of the year also contains an article on the debate concerning the impact of the dominant trading system on the protection of biodiversity, within the framework of the expert mechanism on the right to development, as well as and an article on the Expert Group on Peasants’ Rights. It also contains extracts from the most recent statements made to the Human Rights Council by the CETIM.

CONTENT: The first bulletin of the year opens with an article on the new working group on peasants’ rights. We then present a few lines about Haiti, which is under the thumb of persistent interference from foreign powers. Page 4 is devoted to a report on the Civil Society Conference held in the run-up to the UN Summit on the Future. This is followed by an article on Ecuador, which is descending into violence and chaos. On pages 6 and 7, you will find a paper on the report by the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Finally, the last page of bulletin no. 69 is dedicated to the list of claims and proposals published by CETIM.

CONTENT: The first pages of this newsletter are devoted to the draft UN Covenant on the Right to Development. The aim of this pact is to implement this right throughout the world. You will then find an article celebrating a victory for CETIM and its allies, namely the establishment at the UN of a monitoring mechanism for the rights of peasants. Page 5 of the last newsletter of the year deals with the crucial issue of transnational corporations and, more specifically, the threats hanging over the current UN process. On page 6, we present an article on economic, social and cultural rights, which are finally being put on the international agenda. As usual, the next page lists the CETIM’s interventions at the UN during the last six months of the year. Page 8 presents the CETIM’s latest book, entitled “Economic, Social and Cultural Rights: A legal tool in the fight for social justice“.

CONTENT: This bulletin opens with two articles on the rights of peasants, followed by a text on the right to development. This is followed by an article on the health and political crisis in Peru. Page 6 of the bulletin is devoted to the CETIM’s submission to the UN on the subject of mega-basins in France. As usual, page 7 presents extracts from statements made by the organisation at the last Human Rights Council in Geneva. Finally, on the last page, we present the new book on economic, social and cultural rights written by Melik Özden.

CONTENTS: This bulletin begins with an extract from an interview in Voix Populaire about the WTO, the pillar of the predatory trading system. Page 3 is devoted to a text on the draft binding Convention on the Right to Development being negotiated at the UN. You will then find extracts from CETIM’s interventions at the UN, followed by an article on mercenarism and the draft UN international instrument on private military and security companies. Finally, as usual, bulletin no. 65 presents the latest publications issued by CETIM.

CONTENTS: The last bulletin of the year opens with an article on the criminalisation of informal trade in Chile, followed by two pages on the binding treaty on transnational corporations that CETIM and its partners are defending at the UN. A page presents the declarations made in the last months at the UN by CETIM. Finally, the bulletin presents the new publications to be published in the coming months.

CONTENTS: The first bulletin of the year 2021 presents the training sheets on the Declaration of the Rights of Peasants created by CETIM. This is followed by an article on the UN Food Systems Summit and two pages on the situation in Colombia. Page 6 of the bulletin talks about the draft convention on the right to development currently underway at the UN. Then we present the new book published by CETIM. The last article talks about the organisation’s new digital magazine.

CONTENT: The latest bulletin for 2020 begins with two articles related to Switzerland: the first discusses its foreign policy in the area of peasants rights, and the second looks at the concerns of the UN Special Rapporteur on the new approach of the Swiss cooperation. Violations of the right to water in Chile are then discussed, as well as the progress of negotiations on the binding TNC treaty at the UN. You will also find a summary of the CETIM’s statements during the 44th and 45th sessions of the CodH. The bulletin ends with the presentation of the two new books in the collection “Pensées d’hier pour demain”.

CONTENT: The first newsletter of 2020 begins with an article entitled “Human Rights in the Context of the Covid-19 Pandemic”. It is followed by an article on the decision of the Human Rights Committee which recognized Colombia’s responsibility in the assassination of a trade unionist. Next, you will find a summary of the statements made by the CETIM during the 43rd session of the CodH, an article on Swiss foreign policy in the alder of the declaration on the rights of peasants. The bulletin ends with the presentation of a book on the suffering agricultural workers.

CONTENT: The last bulletin of the year 2019 opens with an article on the TNC Working Group that met in October. He then presents the visit to Switzerland of the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Development. Next, you will find a summary of the parallel conference on poverty and human rights violations in Madagascar, an extract from the statements made at the 42nd session of the Council. The bulletin ends with a reminder of two books published by CETIM: one on the dangers of shale gas and the collection of texts by Tahar Haddad.

CONTENT: In 2019, the first CETIM bulletin talks about the breach of the Brumadinho dam, another crime committed by multinationals. We then return to CETIM’s interventions at the Human Rights Council, namely to denounce the repression against yellow vests in France and the working conditions of the multinational Shell Nigeria. On pages 4 and 5, Melik Özden explains why a convention on the right to development is important. We announce the launch of the book “The UN Declaration on the Rights of Peasants” in e-book and PDF. Finally, we present the latest addition to the “Pensées d’hier pour demain” collection, a collection of texts by Tahar Haddad.

CONTENT: This last bulletin of 2018 first looks back at the historic victory of the adoption of the UN Declaration on the Rights of Peasants. We also refer to our written statement on the phenomenon of the criminalization of the struggles of the Mapuche people in Chile. We then discuss the draft treaty on transnational corporations. The text presented by the Chair of the Working Group is disappointing. We explain why. Two pages are devoted to publications. The one entitled “The EU and the corporate impunity nexus” and two books, one by Jean Ziegler, the other by Jacques Berthelot. We also return to an essential point: the right to development. Finally, we present to you the new book of the CETIM: “The UN Declaration on the Rights of Peasants”

CONTENT: This bulletin begins with an interview with the CETIM director who explains what the declaration on peasants’ rights will be used for. We also talk about the statements on the situation in Brazil and Colombia made by CETIM and its partners. You will also read an article published in the newspaper Le Courrier and a summary of Glencore’s (A4)statement on violations of workers’ rights. Finally, we present the book of the Mayor of Geneva on Colombia.
