“Inclusiveness”, “good governance”, “multistakeholder dialogue” . . .
The ruling neoliberal order will soon run out of euphemisms for denying the harmful consequences of its policies that are at the root of maldevelopment.
“To misname things is to add to the unhappiness in the world. Failing to name them, denies our humanity”.
CETIM’s new digital review Lendemains solidaires takes as its inspiration this quotation from the writer, Albert Camus. It will examine in detail the concept of maldevelopment and identify its contours, causes and consequences in all aspects of life (social, economic, cultural, public health, environmental . . .). In CETIM’s view, development must above all, not be confused with economic growth.
Lendemains solidaires will question the factors and mechanisms that produce maldevelopment and that weaken the potential for the creation of more egalitarian, inclusive and sustainable economies and societies. By creating a discussion space with a large audience, this innovative project will aim to inform and involve citizens through a series of pluralistic and democratic debates. To this end, our digital magazine will give voice to representatives of social movements, activists, youth, academics and independent scientists.
