CETIM gives its unwavering support to the process initiated in the Working Group charged with drafting a Declaration on the Rights of Peasants and Other Persons Working in Rural Areas and assures its support to your presidency. CETIM also welcomes the growing support within the Human Rights Council for this process and we hope that, with the political will of all, we will move towards a consensus on the draft Declaration in question. This Declaration will be of benefit not only to farmers and others working in rural areas, but to all humanity, given that food is a vital issue.
